OMS Annual Supper 2026 – Saturday 28th March, and OM sports events

The Old Maidstonian Society Annual Supper will be held at the school on Saturday 28th March 2026. Preferred Dress is jacket and tie or equivalent. Plus-ones are welcome. After the success of suppers in recent years, it would be good to see so many of you returning to the school for another great evening.

The Supper will commence promptly at 19:30, and will conclude equally promptly by 22:00. Please note that free overnight parking is available for all those who require it, please let us know beforehand if you require the use of these facilities as well as providing us with the registration number of the car ahead of time.

The President (& Chairman), John Clayton, has invited Richard Ratcliffe to be his Guest of Honour. Richard served as the Old Maidstonian Governor on the School Governing Body for ten years from 1987 to 1997 including nine years as Chair, and has served on the Society committee continuously since 1985 including twenty one as Chair and now seven as Secretary. He has served two terms as President of the Society. As a graduate food technologist he held senior technical management posts in three major food PLCs followed by 25 years as a freelance food safety advisor. Much respected by his fellow professionals he was National President of the Chartered Institute of Food Science and Technology in 1999 – 2001 and a member of the Board of the Science Council of the UK. He became an Honorary Fellow of CIFST in 2003.

There will again be a professional bar service with beer, spirits, port, a selection of wines and soft drinks being served before dinner and also at tables during the meal. The bar will be open by 18:00, and the hall and bar will remain open until 23:00. Access will again only be through the main entrance door, where you will be greeted.

We are also hoping to have a tour (or two, numbers depending) around the School before the Supper; if you wish to join a tour, please let us know no later than 21st March 2026, so we have enough time to plan staffing levels for the numbers we have, and please make us aware of any access requirements you have. Timings and numbers will be confirmed during the week before the Supper, but will likely take place in the hour or two before the Supper starts.

We are delighted to confirm that the caterers for the Annual Supper will be Cucina. They will again be preparing our meal, and the menu is stated below and will be on our website in due course.

Starter
Tapas Sharing Board – Serrano ham, olives, black grapes, cherry tomatoes, roasted peppers, olive tapenade, homemade sourdough, and garlic focaccia.
Buffet Main
Tuscan Chicken – Chargrilled chicken with rosemary, spinach, sundried tomato, and oregano in a cream sauce.
Goan Pork Curry – Pork marinated in a rich spice mix with cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves, served with papadums and samosas.
Feta & Butterbean Cassoulet (V) – Braised in a fresh tomato and oregano sauce with crispy kale and spinach.
All served with steamed rice.

The cost is £37 per head, this is an increase over the last two years’ prices, and we still feel it more than reflects the very high quality and quantity of food being served. The caterers have faced the escalating costs of food plus successive increases in the Minimum Wage and National Insurance since prices for the last two suppers were set in 2023.

The Old Maidstonian Super Saturday 2026 – Saturday 28th March

We also invite Old Maidstonians to join us for sport on the day of the Supper. The event and activities will depend on the availability of alumni and the sports they are interested in playing.

Please note that, unlike previous years, alumni will not compete against or alongside current students. All matches must be organised between Old Maidstonians, and participants will need to arrange themselves into teams to play against other alumni.
