Chris Meigh

I don’t know if this information has reached you by other channels, but sadly Chris Meigh passed away recently, and his funeral will be held locally at St. Luke’s Church, Foley Street, Maidstone, Kent ME14 5AW on Friday 26th June at 12.30 p.m.

I know that Chris taught at MGS from 1976 to 2010, so I am sure that many will remember him, and some may wish to attend the funeral.

The wish is for no flowers but donations instead to the Barnabas Fund and Practical Action, care of the funeral directors, who are Family Funerals, 6 Marlborough Parade, Beverley Road, Maidstone , Kent ME16 9JN; 01622 260210

Regards,

Mark Stockham

  1. I have been a friend of Chris Meigh since our time together at Queens’ College Cambridge where he studied (economics?) from 1970-1974. It seems like – although we knew he was seriously ill – the news of his passing had not reached any of the circle of friends from the Christian Union there that both he and I knew. I remember him fondly as a guy with a deep faith in Jesus Christ and will miss him.

  2. I only found about this recently, but I remember Mr Meigh fondly as a tremendous ICT and Computing teacher, and he would always wear t-shirts sporting the names of various indie rock bands on non-uniform days. One of my favourite teachers from MGS!

    Rest in peace.
