Dr J A Bergg OBE – 1951

Dr Bergg was a distinguished civil engineer, and president of the OMS in 1973. Peter Sampson, a member of our present committee, wrote “I am sorry to hear of the decease of John Bergg. He was Head Boy when I joined MGS in 1950. A fine upstanding young man in those days. Please send my condolences to his family.” Our present President, Gardner Crawley, has contributed the obituary which you can download here (in Word format):

David Leeke

The Society has heard that David Leeke passed away peacefully on the morning of 18 May 2014. We are told that his health had deteriorated quickly in the last few months.

David was a former staff member (1989-2000), directing the School’s music, was President of the Society in 2012-13, and remained a member of the Society’s committee. He regularly played the piano for the School Song at OM suppers. We shall give further details of funeral arrangements etc when we can, and we will of course be expressing our condolences to Kathryn Leeke (whose address, for those wishing to do the same, is
